TIPS TO MANAGE ANXIETY DURING STRESSFUL TIMES

During an epidemic it is easy to get overwhelmed. The news, the new schedule, the concern for others, for our economics, it all adds up. But there are really wonderful and simply, time tested activities you can do to help keep yourself in balance.

First order is to stop listening to the news all the time and give yourself a break from the chatter and from all your work activities as well. In Chinese medicine we need YIN (restoration) to fuels our YANG (activity) so take SELF CARE TIME seriously and apply some of these short and simple techniques and you will start to notice an improvement in your wellness. A little goes along way!

ACUPRESSURE AND QI GONG TECHNIQUES: Please watch and practice these suggestions 2x a day or as much as you feel you need them. They do not take long, 10 min-20 min or self work with these will get your cascade of body energetics/chemistry to head into a positive trajectory.  30 min would be a self care gift to yourself – TAKE IT!

This video will discuss points (Ren 17 and Heart 7) are a great combination for a daily treatment to open and regulate “Heart qi” and with relaxed breathing calm and move energy from the chest that is stuck and circulate it into the rest of the body’s energetic system.

This is from Bill Helm, one of my teachers in San Diego and this is still of my favorite simple qi gong (breathing and movement exercises) to calm and stretch the body and mind.

I truly appreciate all my clients and want to thank all of you for the trust you place in me as a care provider on a daily basis. I will continue to be a resource for all of you in regard to your wellness and look forward to working with everyone to get through this unprecedented time. If you have any questions or concerns please reach out to us at the office at 312-528-9338.

Yours in health and wellness,

Mitch Harris LAc
